I’m currently an editor at The New York Times on the climate desk where I edit Climate Forward, our twice-weekly newsletter. (Sign up here. I’m biased but I think it’s great and has a really engaged audience of several hundred thousand subscribers.)

I also manage a team of reporters, covering everything from policy to energy and climate solutions. I help lead the editorial vision of our annual Climate Forward conference, which has hosted world leaders, policymakers and top CEOs.

A little bit more about me: I’m an experienced editor, reporter and newsroom leader, who’s also spent time at VICE News, Rest of World, The Washington Post and Vox.

I’ve launched new media products and I’ve helped big, iconic media orgs manage digital change. I’ve covered startups and worked at them. During the Trump administration, I was the editor-in-chief of VICE News, where I rebuilt its digital newsroom, helped launch VICE News Tonight on HBO, expanded its audience, launched its first podcast, and managed a large team of reporters, editors, producers and audio journalists.

As a consultant, I helped launch Rest of World, a global non-profit newsroom covering technology’s impact outside the Western world. (Check out their work, it’s awesome.)

Over the years, my teams have produced investigations, scoops, explainers, data journalism, global reportage, long and short-form web video, TV segments, podcasts, newsletters, social campaigns, redesigns, relaunches and reorgs.

I’ve also adapted journalists’ work into other formats. For Spotify, I helped create and co-produced “Chapo: Kingpin on Trial”, a bilingual narrative podcast investigation into lives destroyed by the drug war. Netflix’s Fyre Festival documentary began as a series of scoops by my former team.

You can find my 2020 reporting for ProPublica here. I wrote the first deep investigation into the Postal Service under Louis DeJoy and its struggles to deliver mail-in ballots. I reported the first major look at election misinformation on Facebook, a story that unfortunately proved to be just the beginning of a wave of false claims about the 2020 election. (Facebook announced a change to its election misinformation policies on the day my story published.)

I also spent a few months investigating mass disenfranchisement in America’s nursing homes during the pandemic, and other stories.

I’ve appeared on MSNBC, NPR, ABC and a bunch of other places. I am a long-suffering Knicks fan.
